Why a Happiness Retreat?

As the world becomes increasingly technologically advanced, personal wellbeing is moving in the opposite direction — with rising levels of unhappiness and declining health. Brain health is now being recognised as the next global pandemic. According to the World Happiness Report 2025, people rank work as the second most significant source of unhappiness in their daily lives – most people spend at least 8 hours a day at work. Furthermore, South Africa’s ranking in the World Happiness Report has continued to decline, moving from 83rd in 2024, to 95th in 2025, and further down to 101st in 2026. This certainly is concerning!

Lasting happiness is far more nuanced than the idea of being simply “happy-go-lucky.” It is grounded in science. The Happiness Retreat has been intentionally designed, drawing on neuroscience and evidence-based research, to guide you towards true whole-being — enabling you to live a happier, healthier, and wealthier life.

Sharing Global Expertise & Real-life Experience

Following my burnout experience as a Chartered Accountant in the corporate world, I spent the past decade immersed in the wellness industry, dedicated to helping professionals, entrepreneurs, and leaders unlock their full potential—while placing holistic wellbeing at the centre of their success and preventing burnout.

I have invested extensively in both time and money to qualify myself across multiple disciplines on a global scale. My credentials include pursuing a Master’s degree in Happiness Studies (the science of wellbeing), Brain Health Licensed Trainer certification, John Maxwell Certified Leadership Trainer and accredited NeuroCoach, among others.

As part of my master’s journey, I attended an international study block in Rio de Janeiro, where I was trained to design and facilitate transformational global retreats. Our PhysEQFiT team also participated in the International Happiness Summit in Brazil, learning directly from leading global experts in the field of wellbeing.

Now, I bring this depth of knowledge, global exposure, and practical experience back home—so I can add meaningful value to YOU and support YOUR transformational journey.

My journey began with a successful career as a Chartered Accountant in a senior leadership position in the corporate world—one that ultimately led to burnout. Walking away from that chapter was a defining moment. I knew I never wanted to experience that again, and more importantly, I wanted to help others avoid the same path.

A decade later and I am living my dream: owning 5 businesses across diverse industries while pursuing a masters’ degree in Happiness Studies (Science of Wellbeing) BUT now I am living a balanced, fulfilled, and meaningful life.

I had to define what happiness means to me; obtain clarity on my vision for my life and my businesses; and discover my purpose.

I had to consistently apply various habits and interventions to utilise my time and energy more productively to create more time to do the things that I love: running; traveling; spending quality time with my partner, family and friends; go on holiday; reading; studying; exploring…

My mission is to co-create happier, healthier and wealthier individuals, families, organizations and communities. I am looking forward to journey with you!
